21

Where has the time gone? This little life has flown by, right in front of my very eyes. I cannot believe what all he has already become! There are SO MANY things that have changed that I don't know I can remember them all. I don't know if Little Man is 21 months old now, or going on 21 years. He is so independent!

~ He has chores he does. He puts his cars in his "bu" (bucket). He "fee Rah" (feeds Rush) when the bowl gets empty. This can take awhile, but he does it all, including cleaning up spills. We get the mail and he carries it. He even ran and got me a towel when there was a spill and I was holding rush off from getting into it!

He set the table for dinner.
~ Dinner time is a fun event. As we sit, he waits with his hands folded and insists we "pay". We might have to bow another time or two during the meal, but it makes me happy for him to want to do it!

"Coo kin"
He LOVES to help, so he stirs and scoops a lot for me. When I say I'm cooking, he drags the kitchen chair over to help.
~ He knows when things are "ha ha" (hot hot) so not to touch them. When I say I'm cooking, he says ha ha and points. He'll also shiver when things are "col".

Reading a "Tom" book. He loves these!
~ He loves a good "boo" (book). His favorites right now are his "Bi bul" and "Tom". He will look at every page. If he sees a thing he knows, he'll name it. If not, he will point and wait for you to tell him what it is. If you tell him once, he'll remember it and point when you ask where it is!

Riding a "Hor". Speaking of, he points out the Polo horse on his and Chris' shirts each time he sees them.
~ He knows so many animals! He has puzzles, books, and knows a lot of the sounds. He likes "hor", "sar" (shark), "tu tul" (turtle), and "fi" (fish).

"Tee". Please note the stool he has put in front of the sink, the water he is about to turn on, and the "Tom" toothpaste he likes!
~ He has a potty seat. He will sit on it every once in awhile, but we haven't gotten to the training stage. We're just getting used to it. He loves it! He discovered it can move, and will put it in front of the sink to reach the water. He's too smart- this could be trouble!

"Cheese!" I absolutely LOVE how his shorts and tie turned out. He loved his "Bu Tie" too!
~ What a little man he is! Clothes are fun these days. He gets to chose what he wears. Granted, I give him two things to chose from, so it's still what I want. :) Depending on the brand/fit, he varies. Shirts are a 2T/3T and shorts are 2T. He wears a 7 1/2 or 8 shoe! As much as he's been sleeping this summer, folks keep telling me he's growing. Oh dear.

Loving Mama!
~ He LOVES to kiss, hug, and hold these days. He finds his way into my lap often, and I wouldn't trade it for anything!

There are so many more things. We can have conversations that I can actually understand. He's putting words together to make phrases. He's starting to use his manners: "pees", "tan ku". He waves bye, and it's hilarious when accompanied with the loudest "bye" he can. He'll hand me his plate as I clear the table with a "here".

He has grown up so much in the last few months! He really is my Little Man.

Opinions, Please!

Okay. For those three of you that actually read this, I need your opinions. I saw this neat idea for a dress on Pinterest. It was going to be easy, with few stitches. I picked out this really neat material and got started. Since it was a silky material, it required a little more work than just a cotton. I finished it, and I LOVE IT! There is a sash that wraps around a high waist and can tie in a bow. It is cinched at the shoulders. It comes all the way to the floor (LOVE!).

Problem is, I intended to make a dress to wear to school to teach in. Though this is extremely comfortable, I think it might be a little much! Now I can't figure out where to wear it, other than a wedding or fancy dinner! Can I wear this on a regular school day? Can I wear it to Open House in a few weeks? Can I wear it to church? Help!!!

Sorry for the blur, but you get the picture!

VBS 2012

Yeah, I know I'm a little late here, but this summer has been PACKED and CRAZY! I can't believe I am down to only 2 full weeks until I have to go back!

We'll take a little trip back to one month ago. VBS. We'll just say that time was crazy. I had just gotten back from my parents' house for a week visit with Cutter. We had swim lessons, and I had JURY DUTY! That's a whole post in itself!

I love VBS. I love what I do and can't think of any other job I'd rather do. I work with the BEST people there, and in no need for extra hands because we have so many. The little ones make me smile so much!

These are some of my favorites from that week, at least of the pictures I took.

We had SO MANY babies! Michelle & Co. did a GREAT job!

Again, SO MANY toddlers! It takes BRAVE souls to conquer this group!

I LOVE all of the faces in this one!

Kim = Best Activities EVER!

Speaking of faces, how could you NOT be excited when you see her?

All I can say is that he gets it honest!

Too cute!

E E, as Cutter says was such a doll!

Baby Piper, not so much a baby anymore!

I LOVE this little face!

Not so much coloring as hoarding all of the crayons.
He FINALLY smiled! Otherwise, he'd just look at someone and judge them!

Whew! Another year done!

Diaper Drama, Volume VII

So, this really isn't a diaper drama, since there was no diaper involved. Yep. Little Man pooed in the tub. Lucky for this mama, his dada was on duty at that time. Upon realization, it was too late. Mama took Little Man to the other shower to clean him up while dada took over with heavy duty chemicals. Needless to say, dada might pay better attention to the ongoings in the bathtub. At least it might not be so bad next time!

Boys of Summer

These boys make me so ready for a summer of fun and relaxation! I cannot wait for days in the sprinklers and pool. For trips to the zoo and walks in the park to feed the ducks. For eating watermelon and catching fireflies on cool nights. For fireworks. For homemade ice cream. For popsicles. For cook-outs. For hugs and kisses and every minute possible with the loves of my life!

Diaper Drama, Volume V&VI

V: Scene- Early/Mid March. Cutter has a fever virus. No other symptoms at all. Chris and I are splitting work days. I work mornings, Chris works afternoons. This way, we're not burning all hours and days we have. Wednesday afternoon, I'm on shift with him. He lays down for his nap, and he is TIRED. His fever picks up so I put him down in just a tshirt and diaper to keep him cooler. After 4 hours, he is still sleeping. 15 minutes later, he is SCREECHING at the top of his lungs for me. I open the door and realize why. It STINKS in there. I turn on a light, and it hits the fan. Not literally, but I realize why he is still shrieking. Diaper is no longer on him, but under his feet. There is poo EVERYWHERE. Mostly on him. I try wipes, but those do nothing at this point. I have to stand him in the tub, while he screams the whole time. After finally cleaning him up, he just lays on me with the biggest sigh of relief. But my job is far from done! I have to wash sheets, mattress pads, bumper pads, stuffed animals, blankets, clothes and pacis. By the time I am done, #1 lesson learned. ALWAYS put short on top, or duct tape it closed!

VI: Poor Chris. I hope he never reads these! Time #2, changing a stank. I'm on the phone with a neighbor when he starts screaming. Chris, not Cutter. Instead of swapping places and finishing the job, I just bring him a trash can while I continue with my neighbor. Needless to say, the trash can was put to great use, child lay dirty on the changing table with one hand on him to hold in place, and I cannot breathe because of laughing so hard! Lesson learned- go when Chris calls. It might not end well! (Yes, child did get changed and was not harmed in the process.)
