No, I'm not selling anything. Just taking a break from house updates to share a touch of sweetness...
Cutter likes to mix it up with prayers these days. He normally decides who gets to pray, and it seems like Mommy's number gets called a good bit. When getting ready for bed, he'll lay there, fold his hands, and forcefully close his eyes with the funniest expression on his face.
Every once in awhile, he'll get in a silly mood. All we'll get then is a "Dear God, Thank, Amen." The other night, he proceeded to thank God for each of us here individually, including Rush. Then half of the time, he will say a long prayer, go on for awhile, and we'll walk out with no clue what he said.
Tonight was a special one. I said prayers, and then he took his turn. With eyes closed and laying down, he proceeded. "Dear god, Thank you Mommy, Amen."
I'll take it!

Movin' On Up... Cutter's Chapter
I will say this... my son is AWESOME! There is no doubt about it after all of this...
He'd been to the house twice before we really started talking about moving. We refer to the house as New House throughout all of this, to make it clear that it wasn't the one he was used to. We all headed out for the final walk-through. I wanted him to see the house one last time before the move. He walked in and it took a minute for him to reacquaint himself with his surroundings. By the end of the visit, he RAN into his room, arms in the air, and fell on the floor screaming "My room!" I think he's ready.
The next night, we loaded him in the car and drove him to Birmingham. He was going to stay with Nana while we moved. He thought we were following him in our car and was upset momentarily when they arrived and we didn't, but quickly got over that funk when he saw Sam, their dog.
Skip a few days, and he came home. I made sure his room was totally done when he walked in, complete with the new Big Buzz and Woody I picked up at the consignment sale. Buzz caught his eye immediately, and he didn't hesitate.
Fast forward to bedtime. Note here that we hit him with a triple-whammy. 1) New house. 2) No more crib. We've swapped it to the toddler bed. 3) No more papis. Yep. I did it all at once. I figured it would be easier to lose a few nights sleep now instead of some now, some later, and then more later on.
This child? DID NOT SKIP A BEAT! Slept all night, stayed in bed, and in the morning when Chris went to get him, rolls out and says, "Mornin', Daddy!"
This child ROCKS!

Movin' On Up... 4th ed.
Well, we're in. Meaning, we have a place to call home and a bed to sleep in. It's still far from being how I'd so much love for it to be! After heading back to work this week, it's been really hard to get motivated at nights. For now, Cutter's room is the only one that is completely done. The guest bath is pretty much done. The guest room is workable for now. Once we get our room pulled together, the guest will change. My kitchen is good to go. This is the only room with anything one the walls, simply because I couldn't stand the bareness anymore. We get new living room furniture this weekend, so I'll pull that room together once it's all in. As far as cleaning detail goes, windows and blinds need done, but my poor, cracked hands couldn't take it anymore! I'd love to post pictures, but I need to find the box with my camera in it first.
We'll see how this weekend goes, when we can spend some time here with nothing planned!

Movin' On Up... 3rd ed.
Well, the time is here. We are amidst boxes, tape, dust, and trash. Cardboard boxes continue to rise into the sky as our packing moves on, full speed ahead. From my view sitting here on the couch, it doesn't really look much like "my house" anymore. I don't know what I'll be thinking tonight as it is completely empty, with the exception of our air mattress.
Little Man is at Nana's house having a blast. We decided it would be best for him not to be in the middle of all of this. He's been to "new house" a few times, and knows where his room is. When he gets home Sunday, it is my goal to have his room completely ready for him.
Rush has been dropped off at the Mathews' household for the weekend. The girls are in for a treat when they get home today! Bless him- he sat in the middle of the living room, just shaking as everything was going on around him. He should be able to relax a little now... we'll see! ;)
Well, my lunch break is about over. Back has rested, but time is ticking. We're getting down to the nitty-gritty, along with down to the wire. Chris is motivated, and I need to supervise!
To be continued...

Australia
I think I'll move to Australia.
I might have had a little Alexander in me today. W.O.W. What a day it was! It started with a 3:15 wake-up call. Courtesy of miniature housekeeping. After he settled himself back down, I couldn't. I never did go back to sleep.
Dog to groomer at 7:00. I'm doing great. 10 minutes later, I leave the dog with one of the assistants outside of the shop since it still wasn't unlocked.
Into Wetumpka right around 7:25. I've never seend traffic at this time, since I'm always in the room. 10 minutes later, I'm walking in the door. To meet 3/4 of my class already there. And a parent. Apparently, my child LEFT the table yesterday where I left him to get on his old bus, thinking he needed to go home. Needless to say, that will NOT be happening again!
Moving on... right into a boy falling out of his seat, whacking his head on the table on the way down. Not a big deal. But wait... the child just had stitches on the back of his head from a dirt bike accident on Sunday. In comes nurse, a bag of ice, and later on, a small headache and going home. Not me. I had an accident report to file.
Just in time for a Terminex phone scramble to get completed before closing next week. And I can't get Chris on the phone. THANK you for GREAT neighbors!
Throw in a meeting at planning time, when I'm TRYING to get ready for next week.
Tack on a trip to the bank to get a money order, back to the groomer to rescue not-so-shaggy puppy, daycare to pick up a little squirt, across town to the realtor to drop off said money order, and finally to home where dinner is cooked and the LARGEST pile of puzzles and cars awaits a good sorting and cleaning.
Little man hits the sack, and we start to pack. Again. And again.
So truck, just take me to Australia. Stuff is almost packed already, so why not?!
